Silicone Product Prices Increase

Wacker Chemical (Ann Arbor, Michigan) has increased prices for its silicone-based products effective April 1, 2026, citing a combination of supply chain disruptions and rising input costs that the company says can no longer be fully absorbed. The announcement affects the company's broad silicones portfolio, which spans fluids, emulsions, resins, elastomers, sealants, and silanes used across automotive, construction, electronics and other industries.

The company attributed cost increases to ongoing developments in the Middle East, which it said have disrupted energy and raw materials markets and pushed up oil, natural gas and logistics expenses. Wacker said its global silicones business has been materially affected by these conditions.

The company said it is actively working across its global production and logistics network to minimize impacts on customers. However, current increases—particularly in energy, raw materials and transportation—have reached a level that requires price adjustments to maintain supply continuity. Customers will be contacted directly with details specific to their accounts.

Wacker's silicones division accounted for approximately 50% of the company's total group sales in 2025, making it the company's largest segment. The price action follows similar moves by other specialty chemical suppliers responding to the same set of macroeconomic and geopolitical pressures.
