I work for a powder manufacturer and have
a question about PSD (particle size distribution)
and our particle size analyzer. My first
question is what causes fines and how do we fix
it? My second question is on our particle size
analyzer. We have the air pressure to 1500 mb.
Is that a high number and will it cause to break
our particles and create more fines?

My column is meant to be informative, hopefully a little entertaining, and occasionally provocative. You, the readers, are a bright bunch of people and I always appreciate your input and feedback. It’s Allison from Boise. So we have been doing some experimenting since the last PCI meeting. Rob has powder coated his leather boots and wood handles on our wheelbarrow. That all being said, I had a customer inquiring on powder coating a porcelain toilet PINK. Is that possible? Pre heat and shoot hot? Or just stay away from the test altogether?
