Evonik (Piscataway, New Jersey) has expanded its distribution agreement with IMCD (Cleveland, Ohio) to cover the U.S. market for its Visiomer specialty methacrylates portfolio. The two companies had previously established distribution partnerships in Brazil and Canada; the U.S. expansion brings the full Visiomer line to IMCD's nationwide network.

The specialty methacrylates line serves a range of end-use applications including coatings, adhesives and sealants, construction, composites and polymer synthesis. In paint and coatings applications, methacrylate monomers contribute to performance properties such as adhesion, durability, weatherability and chemical resistance.

Joao Souza, head of specialty methacrylates for the Americas at Evonik, said the expanded collaboration will enable the company to serve U.S. customers more effectively and reinforce its market position. IMCD operates as a specialty chemicals and food ingredients distributor with a broad presence across North and South America, providing both product access and technical support to formulators in the coatings and construction segments.
