Last Issue’s Question:
The question for the July/August edition of Pop Quiz, along with the answer is:
Q: Your company powder coats one side of a two dimensional part. What type of powder booth would be
most suited for this type of part?
A. Batch Booth
B. Conveyorized Booth
C. Chain-On-Edge Booth
D. Flat-Line Booth
A: The correct answer is D and can be found on page 146
of the Handbook. Flat-line booths are primarily designed
for the one-sided coating of two-dimensional parts of
minimal thickness. When a two-sided coating is required,
it can be accomplished using a two-pass process.
Editor’s Note: Some respondents noted there is no such thing
as a two-dimensional part. While this is technically correct, the
Handbook uses the phrase to describe a thin, flat part.
