has been accredited
ISO/IEC 17025:2005
by the American
Association of Accreditation Laboratories.
ISO 17025 is the benchmark
standard for calibration labs
and ensures the competency of the
laboratory staff and the accuracy of
the calibrations being performed.
Rajeev Rao joined Axalta Coating Systems
as vice president of strategy and business
development. Rao will report to
Charlie Shaver, Axalta Chairman
and CEO, and support the
implementation of the company’s
strategic plan to chart dynamic,
organic growth opportunities and
potential merger and acquisition
initiatives across its global
business portfolio.
In other Axalta news, the
company is stepping up its efforts
to expand its product offerings in
China. Manufacturing capacity
for new modified polypropylene
powder products will be added to
the Huangshan operations center
of Axalta’s powder coatings joint
venture—Huajia Chemical Co. Ltd.
MicroCare Corp., New Britain,
Conn., manufacturer of cleaning,
coating and lubrication products,
has hired Agustin Mireles as
regional sales manager to serve
markets in Mexico. Based in
El Paso, Texas, Mireles will
oversee the company’s support
of maquiladoras (plants that
import and assemble duty-free
components for export), which
are said to have been growing
in the past few years with more
manufacturers moving production
from Asia to Mexico.
