EGI, PCR Partner to Form New Joint Venture Matrix Powder Coatings

Ernie Green Industries (EGI) has partnered with The Powder Coating Research Group (PCR) to form a new joint venture, Matrix Powder Coatings. Located in a facility on the west side of Columbus, Matrix Powder Coatings produces and supplies unique custom powder coating technology.

The combined strength of PCR’s research and testing laboratory, along with EGI’s resources and experience in manufacturing creates a solid business strategy and partnership.

PCR was established in 2007 by Kevin Biller who has held various positions within the powder coating industry including: 15 years at Glidden Paint Co., president of Wabash Powder Coating in Terre Haute, Ind., and his own consulting firm, Biller Technical Resources, Ltd. He is also the technical editor of Powder Coated Tough magazine.

Biller has four U.S. patents in powder coating technology and has delivered numerous papers and written many articles on powder coating.

Matrix Powder Coatings will open for business September 16, 2014, and will specialize in low-temperature and UV-curable powders for nontraditional substrates, high heat resistant coatings, dead mattes and powders for extreme environments.
